Team

inaglobe operates as a small core team working closely with educators, partners, and alumni across different institutions and geographies. Our organisational model emphasises collaboration over centralisation, with local partners and teaching teams shaping how projects run in their contexts.

Rather than building a large central organisation, inaglobe focuses on weaving together a distributed network: a small coordination team, educators embedded in universities, and partners embedded in communities. Decision‑making is shared, and projects are shaped in response to local realities.

Founders

inaglobe was founded by a small group of Imperial College London alumni committed to bridging the gap between engineering education and social impact. The founders established the initiative's core philosophy of situated, relational learning and justice‑oriented innovation.

Volunteers and advisors

Over inaglobe's nearly seven‑year journey, an extensive network of volunteers and advisors has contributed to the initiative's development and impact. This includes:

Academic advisors

Educators and researchers from universities around the world who have provided pedagogical guidance, curriculum development support, and strategic advice on integrating inaglobe projects into academic programs.

Partner advisors

Representatives from humanitarian organisations, community groups, and social enterprises who have shaped project briefs, provided local expertise, and helped ensure work remains grounded in real contexts and needs.

Technical volunteers

Engineers, designers, and researchers who have contributed their expertise to project development, resource creation, and the ongoing refinement of inaglobe's methods and tools.

Alumni contributors

Former fellows who continue to support inaglobe through mentoring, resource development, and sharing their experiences and learnings with new cohorts.

This distributed network of contributors reflects inaglobe's commitment to collaborative, decentralised governance and ensures that the initiative remains responsive to diverse perspectives and contexts.

Organisational model

inaglobe's organisational model is designed to be lightweight and adaptable. Rather than building a large central organisation, we focus on:

  • A small coordination team: Core staff who facilitate connections, maintain the open resource, and support educators and partners.
  • Embedded educators: Academic coordinators and supervisors who integrate inaglobe projects into curricula and build reflective spaces for students.
  • Local partners: Humanitarian organisations and community groups who define needs, provide local expertise, and help shape project directions.
  • Shared decision‑making: Projects are shaped in response to local realities, with partners and educators co‑defining briefs and priorities.

This model allows inaglobe to operate with minimal overhead while maintaining strong relationships and ensuring that work remains grounded in the contexts where it happens.

Network and community

Beyond the formal team structure, inaglobe is sustained by a growing community of educators, partners, students, and alumni who continue to contribute to the initiative's mission. This includes:

Educators

Academic coordinators and supervisors across multiple universities who integrate inaglobe projects into their curricula.

Partners

Humanitarian organisations, community groups, and social enterprises who host projects and provide local expertise.

Alumni

Former fellows who continue to engage with inaglobe and apply its practices in their professional work.
